Okay....I'm just about finished with it. Here:
Dear whomever it may concern,
My name is Allison and I’m fourteen years old. I have a love for the band Green Day, so, naturally, I am a member of several sites concerning them. But one that sticks out the most would be one called “The Punk Diplomacy”. It’s a forum, really, where fans of Green Day and their music can meet up to simply chat about the band or whatever else they feel like. This site is my favorite not because of the fact that crazy GD fans like myself are meeting there, it’s because I’ve somehow gotten close to four other girls who are members of that site.
My father raised me with caution. He’s a virus freak and has always warned me about things like internet stalkers and crazy 50-year old men who act like teenage guys just to talk to younger girls. He used to scare me sometimes. So believe me when I say I can trust these gals.
It took a while for us to become such a tight-knit group, but we did become close, and now we call ourselves “KAATA”: Karla, Ally, Ale, Taylor, and Abby. We send private messages back and forth to each other, chat with each other on the forum, and have even added each other to our buddy lists on AIM. I also believe a few of us (Taylor and Karla as well as Ale and Karla) have corresponded over phone.
We seem to understand each other. We often comment on how amazing and incredible it is that we have this bond. I feel like I can tell them anything. Which I do, when I have a problem, and they do their best to comfort me. Truthfully…they were there when I cut myself for the first time, after I’d gotten into a huge argument with my mother and felt confused and alone. I’m there for them whenever they have a problem.
But it seems we all have a problem. I live in Pennsylvania. Ale lives all the way on the other side of the country, in California. Abby lives in Indiana, Taylor lives in Ohio, and Karla lives in D.C. We’re miles apart, and we want nothing more than to actually meet. We actually made a vow that someday, we would all get together (and go to a Green Day concert with each other, but that’s a different story).
Hear us out! We’re all only fifteen and younger. Our parents simply scoff at the idea of us having friends over the internet. But they just don’t understand! It seems impossible that we would actually be able to see each other face to face, but we still have this hope that we will, somehow. But, we can all willingly admit, we need help!
That’s our wish. It’s our hope. Please simply listen and know that we want NOTHING more than to actually be within a two-mile radius of each other and be able to speak to each other without having to type it out. It’s really all we want. We hear all the time that you’re responsible for making people’s wishes come true. And we have a wish too. It’s not something like money or anything of the sort, our one wish is to just meet our best friends, our family. We feel kind of weird writing to you, but we don't know what else to do. There's nothing else we CAN do. We’d each give just about anything just to meet face to face, just to hug each other. Please, we know it’s a weird request, but we have no where else to turn. If you could just make it possible for us to meet each other, you’d be our hero.
If you’d like to witness the bond yourself to prove its worth, go to
punkattache.proboards75.com/index.cgi and you’ll see for yourself. There’s an “Everything and Anything” section, and there you can find the thread “You Guys”, written out by Taylor, where she actually states how much she appreciates us, and one written out by Ale titled “KAATA”.
Input from the members of KAATA about other members:
Karla:
Taylor: ok.
you guys are always here for me and i love that. I always come home go to the bathroom (you didn't need to know that but i threw it anyway
) and then turn on my computer. sit on my fat ass and go to GDO or here now. and talk to you guys non stop until im pried away from the computer. You guys are the world to me and i love you all so very much. Without you guys i probably wouldn't be here...right this minute....right this hour....right this day.....right here....with you guys.
I love you guys!!
Ale: Anyone else can read it, only
KAATA
will feel it though.
Anyway, its part of a conversation with me and Karla.

MizuJotei [6:45 P.M.]: hopefully more writers will find this site and join
SIRIUSlyPotter7 [6:46 P.M.]: i really hope so though because itll be so awesome because it kinda feels like me you ally abby and taylor are above the rest on yours cause we're like this group of friends from before
SIRIUSlyPotter7 [6:46 P.M.]: no i dont mean we're above them...i mean
SIRIUSlyPotter7 [6:47 P.M.]: ugh i cant explain it
MizuJotei [6:47 P.M.]: i know what you mean
MizuJotei [6:47 P.M.]: dont worry
SIRIUSlyPotter7 [6:47 P.M.]: okay good
MizuJotei [6:47 P.M.]: in 'welcome' i said anyone and everyone is welcome to join
SIRIUSlyPotter7 [6:48 P.M.]: no i mean i do hope people come. and itll be a lot more fun cause there wont be someone calling us posers and teenies. but us...i dunno. we have something unexplainable
SIRIUSlyPotter7 [6:48 P.M.]: something rare. and completely bewildering in our case since none of us have actually ever met
MizuJotei [6:49 P.M.]: damn right
MizuJotei [6:49 P.M.]: i understand
SIRIUSlyPotter7 [6:50 P.M.]: its like with eachother we can be who we really are. but its more than that because i know none of us hide who we are to others but its like between us four, we understand eachother. we have the same beliefs and ideas and the beauty is, we dont seem to have the frustrations friends usually bring
SIRIUSlyPotter7 [6:51 P.M.]: because i mean no matter how much you love your friends there are frustrations everywhere
MizuJotei [6:51 P.M.]: *nods head wisely*
SIRIUSlyPotter7 [6:51 P.M.]: but not with us
SIRIUSlyPotter7 [6:51 P.M.]: and i fuckin love that
MizuJotei [6:51 P.M.]: i fucking love that too
Karla, Ally, Abby, Taylor, you guys are my family. I love you all so fuckin much. and one day we're all gonna meet up! and that was Ale's RARE emotional, sappy thing.
Abby: I want to meet you guys.... because you mean more to me than anyone does. You are such incredible friends, and you understand me better than I understand MYSELF. You make it so easy for me to tell you guys things, and you support me when.... when I most need it. Ya know?
