I never liked Harry Potter really... I've read the 6 books, but only because Phan told me to (her reason: if you don't read them who will listen to my complains?!)...

this girl gets raped at an end of the summer party by an older guy, so she calls the cops, who come and well, you know, ruin the party. so she enters high school having lost all of her old friends (who were at the party with her) and she won't talk. basically she is taking an art class from a teacher who has a very lasting effect and helps her out, despite the fact that she is slipping in everything else...her grades go from B's in middle school to D's and F's in high school, she tries cutting herself and her mom just says that she doesn't have the time to deal with her daughter's cutting, she skips classes/school.......It's not a hard read (I read it in like 7th grade and I found it easy), but it's a great story and I loved it Here's a link that explains Speak better than I can: www.amazon.com/gp/product/014131088X/qid=1136781676/sr=2-1/ref=pd_bbs_b_2_1/102-3336638-7449764?s=books&v=glance&n=283155

well...since Ale's not here I thought I would do a little eensie weensie bit of catching up in the thing I like to call posting....so books, books, what to say about books
ummm...I want to read Scar Tissue by Anthony Kiedis and I want to read The Long Hard Road Out of Hell by Marilyn Manson. I know, I know, you're all probably thinking 'What the fuck?!' but you have to admit that Marilyn Manson is a pretty interesting guy

I can't believe that a fucking Danielle Steele novel is on the New York Times hardback fiction bestseller list...does this tell you something about modern american culture?
