well, technically, in the U.S. an adult is an 18-year-old... although I tend to think of it as someone in their mid-twenties or older

The age where you can legally consent (agree) to having sex with someone older than that age.

16 years old...which, if you think about it is odd, because if I, a 15-year-old, had a boyfriend in my grade and we wanted to have sex, it would be illegal because the guy would (unless he's young like me) be 16....and that would be considered statutory rape

I know...that's what I was saying...it's not like there is a huge maturity difference or anything between a 15 year old and a 16 year old, but they have to choose an age and they can't really make exceptions because then the law would get all weird and loophole-y
