PD has been on a steady downward track. What happened to the days when we didn't even have enough time to attempt to wrap our head around how quickly people were posting?
Berni and I were talking, and I brought up how things have turned so awkward now, and she agreed. We both find ourselves struggling to say anything in conversations with people from PD who we used to have to turn on our away messages for a few minutes so that our fingers could have a break from typing. (that happened to me, at least)
So, Berni and I know when it all started it's decline, but we just want to get it back. I personally love you guys here, and I think it's sad that we hardly talk anymore.
I was thinking of ways that we could get an increase in posting and bring back that sense of family that we had and so dearly miss, and I thought of two things we could try doing.
1) Fanfiction challenges
We could hold fanfic challenges where you write a fanfic with a certain pairing, or maybe you have to have a specific plotline, or a setting, or something. It might help if we didn't limit it to Green Day fanfiction, because I know that I, for one, am a lot less interested than Green Day right now than other bands. We'd have to work out more details, but it could be fun.
2) Book Club
Okay, I'm stealing a page out of Panic!'s book, but I am in a book club at school, and joined before knowing about Panic!'s club, so.... Maybe we could all read the same book and then talk about it. I know that we have a lot of different ages here, but I would say that if we leaned towards the young adult category, it could work. We would probably make it a book a month or a book every three weeks or something, because we want enough time to read it, but we need to stay at a fast enough pace that interest doesn't wane. Also, if you weren't interested in the book, then you wouldn't have to read it. It's not like it would be confining.
If you don't like the ideas, *shrugs* okay. But, I would seriously appreciate it if you could share any ideas you may have as to rebuilding this family. So, just say if you like my ideas (be honest, I really don't care) and if you have any ideas, feel free to share, no matter how stupid you may think they are.
